Dan's foot still looks pretty nasty, but he's certainly moving better. Here, Joey inspects the damage.

Joey and I stop for a quick shot before we head down into the cave. This ampitheatre is where we'll stop later tonight so we can watch the bat flight.

Joey and Dan start the trek into the cave. You can see both natural sunlight and some of the laterns they use to dimly light the cave for the visitors. We coudln't even begin to imagine how scary and freaky the trek in and out must have been a century (or more) ago when the cave was first explored.

While not the longest, deepest or most cavernous cave, Carlsbad is said to be the most beautiful. You get a sense of its grandness in this picture. Dan and Joey are on the right side a little bit down by the railing. The entrance was grand, but getting into the Big Room was even larger!

We purchased the audio tour which was really nice on the way down. With over 40 audio blurps, we learned a ton about the cave.

Pictures of the caverns are beautiful!! Also like the purple toes, Dan. Glad you're feeling better. Looks as though all of you are having a blast.
