Lifetime

Been a busy day today!

Dan and I went to Intel today to do our weigh in and I did it! I hit lifetime weight and now only have to weigh in 1x per month. In addition, I hit my 30lb mark. I'm so excited! It's been a long 5 months to get to this point, but I have achieved it. I'm actually in smaller size clothes now that I was in college but that's mostly due to the work out I've maintained over the past 5 months. I feel great and am pleased I managed to continue to lose weight while traveling to Oklahoma. I think we ate at Subway everyday but one while we were gone!

Also got my hair cut (which Dan hasn't noticed yet... however he's in the midst of bonding with his X-box 360 so the oversight is more than forgivable!), bought some desparately desired veggies and am ready to cook something yummy for dinner.

Joey and I spent a few hours at the Hamilton Pool today. He doesn't like that I make him do laps with me, but he totally enjoyed the play time. He must have jumped off that diving board 6 times today! He's a good kid, too. I was reading a magazine and when I looked up I couldn't find him so I wandered around looking for him. He was doing as I asked and keeping an eye out for me as well, and found me before I found him. I love that he's getting older and more mature.

Almost caught up on laundry so I can pack for the next leg of the journey. Going lighter than Oklahoma, but that's a good thing. And Joey goes to his Dad's tonight, which he is super excited about! Dan and I will probably take in a movie.

Home at LAST

It was raining cats and dogs in Tulsa Monday morning and the lightening and thunder woke us up allowing us to get an early start. The journey from Tulsa to the Texas border was 4 hours of nothing but rain. My car started the journey clean but ended up smothered in BUGS!!!

We made great time and travelled from 4 am to 11:30 pm making it home late last night exhausted but happy to sleep in our own beds. Now, to do a bit of laundry and then repack for the Friday flight to Florida!

OOH, and got another scrapbook page done. The LO designs are all from Jessica Sprague.

Dan's Family

We got to spend some quality time Sunday with Dan's middle sister, Tina, her husband Jason and daughter Jacie. We spent the afternoon chatting and eating! We got to eat some really delicious BBQ (and fried Okra YUMMY!!) and then, of course the obligatory Braums! When we arrived back at the house a few hours later, I got Dan, Tina and Jacie to climb up on the wall so I could take a picture of them with Joey and the wild Mustangs in the pasture across the street. Those creatures are divine and a step up from the cows they normally see.

Jason is an elusive creature so trying to get a picture of that man is difficult and a challenge I undertake every time we visit. He's got gorgeous eyes... so not sure why he hides them from the world. Maybe he's afraid the picture will steal his soul? :) Tina and Jason are close to celebrating their 18 year anniversary, and here is a rare picture of the couple.

Like I mentioned before, Jacie continues to grow into a beautiful, mature young lady. As Tina and I were talking the pride she has for her daughter shined through... and with good reason.

Dan loved the shopping trip we took to Bass Pro Shop. He purchased a rough tough knife along with a shot gun lighter and some salt water taffy. Tina and I found an ailing fish in their pond, but the employees didn't seem to care so much about the sick fishie. However the two of us were too chicken to stick our hands in there and help the poor fish out.

Unfortunately we didn't get to see Tami and her family nor Dad which made us very sad, but the timing just didn't work out. Hopefully we'll get the opportunity to see them next time. :(

Hum-Dee-Dums

On the way back from McDonald's this morning Joey says "Hey! These are the flowers we use for the Hum-Dee-Dum game?" Me, "The What?" Joey shared that it's a game he plays with his Dad, they look for the biggest flower and then race to see who can kick it first. "So you kill these flowers?" "No!" A heart beat pause, "Well, yeah... but it's okay!"

I love when Joey tell stories! Sounds like a fun game.

Family, FINALLY!!!

Yesterday also found us with Tina, Jason and Jacie. It was wonderful to see Dan's middle sister and her husband Jason. Jacie has grown so much and is a lovely young lady. Joey was reunited with cousin Lavita's grandson Gabe who is 7 years old and a perfect match for our energetic son. The two first met at a News Years party to ring in 2005 and had a blast playing together yesterday while the adults spent some time catching up. We'll get to see more of them today as we head back to meet them for dinner.

A blue wedding

Darrin and Brooke tied the knot yesterday in Grove, Oklahoma. Many of you know that Dan and I housed an intern, Darrin Simpson, through the year 2007. After a year of staying with us Darrin moved to Traders Point Christian Church in Indianapolis, IN to take a job as Minsiter of Middle School Students working with 6, 7, and 8th graders.

Seeing him and Brooke yesterday was wonderful. The wedding was a truly happy affair with lots of laughs and smiles. The atmosphere was one of happy celebration to see these two committing their lives to each other. THe church was decorated with candlelight and flowers and looked lovely. Brook was stunning in her gown and Darrin cleaned up really well in his tux... and bright blue shoes! So him, and Brook had hers dyed to match.

Dan and I agreed that it was one of the nicest weddings we have been too. They celebration center was deocrated with thousands of white lights and made the room feel cosey and formal. Darrin and Brooke were all smiles and looked so incredibly happy together. Can't wait to hear what their honeymoon adventures in Paris, France hold. What an exciting journey for the two of them.

Scrapbooking

Got a couple of scrapbook pages done last night with another one in the works. Darrin's wedding is today and I'm looking forward to taking pictures at his wedding tonight.
